The pictures are £10 each Charlie, and if you want larger versions you can do that for an extra £4. Although there are a few guys from the Cruisers in the photo I wold say that it was very mixed. There are also three Glory Boys from Sighthill there, a couple of NG Mods, Big Frank fae the Gorbals, and Bobby Black from the south side as well.

Hi Will get in contact with The Evening Times, there are 2 pictures of The Glasgow City Cruisers outside of Mickey Oates, believe they are £5 each, as the photos appeared in "Times Past" in The Evening Times. a great momento for any Mods or Scooter Boys who love all things cool!!! We arra Mods!

Cool picture 10/90 of the lads outside mickey oates, any idea were i can get a copy.
My memories are that I did a lot of running from skinheads bikers and anybody else who hated mod. But hanging around the barra`s and virgin on saturday`s will stay with me forever

We really are delighted to have you here DellBoy - and loving your insight into the Mod scene 'between the wars' - i imagine how cool it must have been to step out as a sharp dressed Mod in the years that style forgot (the 70's).

just read your article on glasgow mods 79- present .i got into the mod scene at 15 in 1976 and i thouht i was the only mod in the country simply because i did not see or hear of any other mods or scooter boys at that time . In my home town of warwick it was full of bikers . can you imagine by 1977 theres this one small tiny vespa fully covered in lights and mirrors . Now i dont why but for some unknown reason they took an instant dislike to me ha ha . Steadily more people started to get into the mod scene and by 1979 warwick had quite alarge amount of scooters . We soon all got together and started going on scooter rallys as some of us still do today and enjoying every minute of it . keep the faith DELLBOY

I was never in the Barrel Vaults myself, but a few of my mates used to go through now and then. We always knew they would come back with a tale of a barney with the CVS, and they always did. I think it was a particular mob that used to cause all the hassle, and they may have been called Section 5 or something like that. I suppose if I am being honest though, the Scene Club boys were not exactly backwards at coming forwards when it came to staring a fracas.

haha thaats the place...the barrel vaults....I remember it now....and Gav Lennox.... hahaha, we used to meet Monday nights there and all teh scoots would be lined up outside the pub...with regular ability Gavin would sneak out when nobody was watching him and switch everybody petrol off.... ye think we would learn!!! We would all get to the same roundabout and all the scoots would start dying out hahaha, think we would learn!!!

I don't know the name of the place that the Clyde Valley Stompers had their meetings in TYB. But they did have their do's in a pub called the 'Barrel Vaults.' The nights always seemed to result in a fight between a section of the CVS and the Glasgow Mods. Must have been all that Buckie that they consume out there.
