He used to go about with Rab Aitcheson . Sad to hear he has passed away.

If you look on the part of the site for the Glasgow Mod Weekender from last year I have posted a photo of Paul Viola sitting on his Vespa PX. You will have to go through quite a few to get to it right enough, it is photo number 120.

Re: Glasgow Mods Story

wasnt a 80s mod as such was only 10 back then n 80
but always wanted to be one wasx always following lads were i grew up who were mods
gel sheilds, paul viola think paul runs aboot n a vespa, had my mum buy me a pair of burgendy winkle pickers in primary school was always slagged but i was always smart with a pair of either farahs or waffle troosers aye a know was looking at the rip part... dont know if any you older lads remember donny woods fae toonheed well he died about 10-12 yrs ago from drugs sad ....was wanting to get into the mod scene again but i dont want to be seen as a imposter..i also no the younger casuals love the mod scene the music the clothes were is mod bars n the city centre i know mcchulls but is there any were else

Re: Glasgow Mods Story

Sounds an interesting fact finding mission there if any one can help Bobby Smith, your info will be most appreciated, cheers and good luck Bobby.

Re: Glasgow Mods Story

does anyone have any info on a band called the count downs who played in the dalriada in the 60s think the lead singer was johnny wilson

Re: Glasgow Mods Story

Also if you go to the Blue Angels MC website, it talks of teh mixing with the 60's mods of Glasgow...

Re: Glasgow Mods Story

talking of casuals, I remember we nearly got mugged by a gang of rangers ICF lot in Central station one nigght cos there was about 3 of us! Yeah, it was "Mick The Chef", always ready and prepared. Never had any bother from Casuals from Glasgow, never, as much as the Aberdeen ones.C'est la vie!!

Re: Glasgow Mods Story

Q. I believe its in a book by some Aberdeen casual who stated 'the hardest crew we ever fought with were THE GLASGOW MODS'.
Glad I was there...

Re: Glasgow Mods Story

The sounds of The Briggait Cafe, everyone "buzzed" up, the music on The Jukebox, then walk down to The Band Stand, the total thrill of looking over your shoulder, and seeing, a line of Mods, behind you,I remember one Saturday,in George Square, Big Jason done a "head count", 364 Mods in total, almost one for everyday of the year!! No wonder the town was"quiet" that day, not a Punk, Biker, anywhere. Strange thing was, we were just walking through the town, having a ball,a total natural high of being there,I for one am proud to have been part of it, very proud.

Re: Glasgow Mods Story

hahah ahh doing the Monkees walk, always makes me smile that does...

Re: Glasgow Mods Story

The concert on Saturday was everything that I hoped and thought it would be Steven, absolutely first class.
