    • The film did indeed change a lot of lives then and even now, still a classic. I live in London now, was a Govan Mod from 81 and hung about the Scene and Lindella. I've got to know an old mod...

  • thanks stevie great video
  • Ace video and choice of music, "Harlem Shuffle" like the photo at the end with your son down at The Band Stand Stevie.Class!
  • Thanks for the comments

I mixed in some photo's from Harlem with those of Glasgow.
I'm sure Harlem, and indeed Glasgow, still have their problems but they are better places to live than they were in those days. But we had our style, our music and our mates - and it's amazing that white kids in the UK were getting the same buzz from music made by black kids in America. In Glasgow we also had our own Apollo theatre - and our very own Globetrotters!
  • Gets better everytime I see it, its amazing how a few words from a Sheriff can inspire someone to turn the message into sound and vision, ace!
  • Stevie, would I be correct in thinking the opening picture, is the multi's in Cranhill ? just looks like them
  • NG - your correct again - and there's picture of the Cranhill beacon (watertower)

As i was saying to Robert before, Cranhill has had a complete facelift - my old school is gone - in fact both schools are gone - and most of the tenaments! It's actually looks quite nice now.

ps still struggling to get to grips with this turntable...
  • Is your t-shirt in the post ?

My turntable records at a faster speed, then i've got to go into settings to play at the right speed !!! I haven't even went near an EP or LP yet, mind you theres enough 45s to keep me going that little bit longer.

I also bought one of those VCR/DVD combi recorders so I can put all my VHS tapes onto disc, still haven't touched the thing yet. Just like the idea of having one !!!
  • HI Stevie, if you email charlie@glasgowmods.co.uk I will send you some Mod photos I think yuo may enjoy. Cheers
  • i've got it sussed (the tuntable) and sent some stuff to Jimmy + another video i put together - hopefully he will get it on here soon.

emailed charlie and awaiting those mod photos with interest...
