    • The film did indeed change a lot of lives then and even now, still a classic. I live in London now, was a Govan Mod from 81 and hung about the Scene and Lindella. I've got to know an old mod...

  • Great photos lammy chick, I'll take it these are from Glasgow in bygone days ?
  • Cracking photos Lammy Chick, Steveo1 who's the "Quadrophenia" extra on the Lambretta? lol! Keep them coming, brilliant, see you'se at Friday Street end of the month!
  • Nice photo's Lammy and Steveo1. I take it they were taken in Castlemilk. The Lambretta at the end is first class.
  • Charlie!! Its so bloody hard to get a hold of you man :) Whats happening at the end of the month? Can I go too? pwwweeeease.....I'll be in Glasgow :D
I'll bring ma talcum powder for the shuffle.
  • oh....btw...the photis are effin fab Lammy, well done :D was the guy in foti 6 selling candy apples oot his boot? lol
  • great photos - along with the other pics on the site i think we've built a time capsule of Glasgow in late 70/80's - i think we all knew front gardens/back yards just like these ones - and i know everyones s bedroom was plastered with pics/clippings just like this!
  • Hi Donna, see you last Friday of the month, e-mail you some details, tomorrow afternoon, expect a few photos, getting the hang of this e-mail malarky, from Uncle Charlie xx
  • Thanks Jimmy for putting Stevie's photo's on, your a fast worker, I only just sent them. The photos are all taken in Castlemilk except for number 10, which was taken at Isle of Wight 2006, some wee geezer called Jimmy left his scooter parked up and Stevie jumped on for a photo shoot LiLi

Green Onions, it could have been candy apples he was selling out the boot, but Stevie has confirmed that it depended on what came off the back of a lorry that week LiLi

Charlie, we won't being going to Friday St for a while, as August and Sept are busy months for Mod Do's over the dyke. Have a good one and shimmy the night away :-)
  • Great stuff Lammy and Steveo1. The front court looks the exact same as others in Easterhouse, and maybe Drumchapel. These photo's are a treasure and it is great that we have some to look back on,

One thing I have to ask you cool dudes's is 'where the hell is over the dyke' or is that getting personal ?
  • chris that would be ENGERLUND
  • Cheers Jimmy. I had honestly never heard that expression before.
  • Green onions - Donna?
U the same Donna that kicked about wi Debbie & Carol & went to the Polish Club?
  • Chris, don't know if you noticed, but Steve has a Globies, hand painted of course, helmet on on number nine of my photo's above. Do you think the Globies would like to put it onto their site, maybe under club history? LiLi
  • I didn't notice the Globbies MKI crash helmet until you pointed it out there Lammy.

You should post if off to the current one's but I am not so sure if they shout from the rooftops about being originally totally Mod. I imagine none of the original Mods from 1980 are now with the current crop.
  • These are fab and as has already been commented, the streets, gardens and flats are all part of our collective youth. All been pulled down now, a good thing I suppose ? - nostalgia plays tricks and you remember things as being better than they probably were!
  • It's funny how its difficult to tell the difference between schemes such as Castlemilk, Drumchapel, and Easterhouse during those times. I wonder if the designer got more money for originality.

Good point about how time can make things different to the reality Janny. I was always up at my cousins place in Provanhall in Easterhouse, and I must say that looking back it really was a dump. But because we were brought up amongst it we did not notice it at the time. Most people who are a bit fortunate have good memories of their youth and where they were brought up. But most would not go back to the same place for anything.
  • where have my photos gone?
  • I thought for a while you had taken them back 'Over the Dyke' Lammy Li Li ! How is Stevie keeping ?
