    • The film did indeed change a lot of lives then and even now, still a classic. I live in London now, was a Govan Mod from 81 and hung about the Scene and Lindella. I've got to know an old mod...

  • Aye, wee Ped, Rockwells( Blackfriars) Pilot Jacket,Combat Trousers,Boxing Boots,Cycling Top under his Pilot, not just dancing to "Competition Ain't
Nothing" GLIDING! what a mover! God bless you Ped.On his own in the middle
of the dance floor, sheer poetry in motion. Thanks for sharing the photos Chris.
  • Hi Charlie

No problem about sharing the photo's with everyone. We were all very lucky in that we were young at a good time. Great style, great music, and a great bunch of people.

Wee Ped was a fantastic dancer, both during the Scene club days and then later on with the Northern Soul style dancing. It took the wind out of my sails when I heard he was no longer with us.
  • additional photos recieved from Bryan Connor of BoBo from Craigend of Cataloy Cruiser Fame along with a picture of the famous Cataloy cruiser. East End Macky Prenty ? and a great scooter. Thanks Bryan for sending the pictures to be used here.
  • more photos recieved from chris of the scene club, baz's nessie, welshy, james melville, hug paton, morecambe, scarborough.......... KTF
  • FANTASTIC!!!! Thats Prenty, no doubt about that. Photos of The Scene Club; WOW! What a treat! Thanks Chris, owe you a few beers when we meet.
  • It's just a pity that I did not have a great camera during those times Charlie, although I suppose the Scene Clubs decor of black and mostly more black is not the ideal environment for photo's.

I hope you enjoy seeing some of the faces from the past anyway, and yes I will glad to take you up on the offer of a beer.
  • more photos added from chris cameron today, that brings the total of 24 photos from the photo man himself ... thanks chris a lot of people getting a lot of enjoyment out of the photos......
  • Thanks chris for the memories, look forward to many more photos. cheers Budgie
  • No problem at all Budgie. I have had those photo's sitting in a box for years. These were brilliant times and I am glad that I managed to take a few photos of some of the great guys that made the early 80s Glasgow Mod scene the best in the country.
  • Reckon the photo " millsy " is ma self  Dunbar 82 83 . Excuse spellin of lambretta . Spotted lot of long lost faces rod the mod ,chas, ped ,the patons jim n hughie, hows wass daein by the waya, big vince ( is he oot ) . ****** brilliant.
  • It only seems like yesterday, getting the number 16 bus into toon as a young mod and seeing Big Chris's scooter parked outside his hoose on Northgate Road, highlite of the journey into toon.

One picture of The Polish Club, its a start, I kin just see ma scooter parked up alongside it.
  • I was in touch with Shug Paton last week by e-mail. He was saying that Wass was still staying down south and had a couple of scooters. I hope he takes more care of them than he did with mine when he rode it through the lane at the Apollo when it was full of heavy metal freaks going to a Motorhead concert.
  • Alright Chris, Andy M here, photos are excellent, if youre still in contact with any of the the lads give them ma best. Met Chas couple year ago and big Frank fae the Gorbals but havent seen any c**t else in years or if a have too pished tae remember.
  • andy it's good to see you found us, chris is in contact with shug paton amongst others, if you would like his contact details I would be happy to hook you all up.
  • admin, that wid be sound let me know how, not too computer literate,it wid be good tae see whos stiil got hair n their ain teeth.
  • admin, that wid be sound let me know how, not too computer literate,it wid be good tae see whos stiil got hair n their ain teeth.
P.S. gonnae sortr the spellin of lambretta fur me on ma username.
  • have to be honest and say that the background is not good here. You cannot read the posts on the left hand side, feels like too much going on and I think this may be slowing down access to the pics and stuff.
  • TYB the posts are in the middle of the website, the user base has grown 1500 to 2500 per week so not many have the same issue in fact your the only one. As for the speed of the site I see no performance issue. Also email me with any issues and I can help to sort them out.
  • How are you doing Andy. The last time I saw you was down in Anderston when you finished up with the Volunteer Centre.

I have seen a few of the guys and girls from the Scene club days but not too many to be honest. I bumped into a few people at various gigs, and then I got in contact with the guys from the site when I saw so many of the people that we knew had passed away. I met up with Shug Paton a few weeks ago, and he was telling me that Mick is staying up near Lennoxtown. Wass is down south in essex or something like that. I thought people would appreciate the photo of your PE 200 at Dunbar, I thought it looked excellent.

There is a Mod weekender on at the end of June. We went to the Saturday night do last year and it was really good. We will probably go again this year if you would like to meet up for a few beers.
  • Alright Chris, doing no to bad. Stumbled on the site by chance and thought it was brilliant to so many old faces. Gutted to see the passing of some good lads, especially wee Ped had,Gnae seen him for 20 odd year so he wiil always be a young mod in my memory, likewise big Chris. As I already siad havent seen anybody apart fae Chas n Big Frank in recent years., was on the Globbies website (or should that be Gobbles ) n saw apost fae Wass n Eddie C thought aboot mailin them but coudnae be arsed. The mod weekender souns good where is it, dont know if the auld suits still fit though. Thanks fur stickin in the photo of the auld bike, was a bit pished the first time a saw it n thougt it was somebody else.It was one of ma weans that spotted me in the caravan photos. Let me know aboot the weekender n I'll catch you for a beer or ten.
  • Good to hear from you again Andy. I remember the first time I met you was down in Mickey Oates. You knew the guy that had my Vespa 90 before me and you told me he was also a Cameron, I think Stevie Cameron. I'm sure the photos of Scarborough 82 bring back some good memories, that was a mad weekend for sure.

The last time I saw big Frank Cameron (another one) was at a Robert Cray gig in 1987. I still see a bit of Eddie Cunningham at the games.

As far as I know the Mod weekender is on the weekend of 25/26 June. I will definitely be looking to go on the Saturday night if you want to meet up. Are you still drinking in the old Avalon ?
  • Chris you have a better memory than me, a used tae hang aboot Mickeys all the time, even tanned it in the summer of 80, had tae get chrome somehow, bought ma first scooter of him, Lambretta GP 125, £163, wee fuck got it for nothing of a biker. but Mickey's was always a soond place tae hang aboot.

As for big Frank bumped in tae him quite a lot over the years,he's a biker noo.
Was Stevie Cameron fae the east end?

No dont use the Avalon anymore over in the south side, never really get intae Anderston.

I would great tae meet up and reminise, is that how ye spell that, let me know wwere it si n I'll be there, work permitting.

I have a season book as well,in the Lisbon Lion stand, where are you.
  • Hi Andy. I well remember you always being in Mickey Oates. I think I had said in an earlier post that I always thought you had a bed in there somewhere.

I'm not surprised to hear that big Frank has got into the biker thing. That last time we saw him he looked like a later version of Jim Morrison, with the beard and everything. I remember he gave me a shot of his TV 175 over in the Gorbals. Boy could that thing shift over a short distance.

We will certainly have to meet up for this do on the Saturday. (I think its the 26th) It will be good to turn back the hands of time and catch up. Nearer the time we can arrange where to meet before it

My own seat is in the sun trap known as the North stand.
  • Will do Chris.
I left a post in the RIP section regarding one of the Sighthill Gloryboys, Peter Docherty,
Was he the big guy wae red hair n drove a white PX.
  • Hi Andy. I am not sure what colour of PX Big Doc had, but quite a few of the Glory Boys had white PXs or PEs. Johnny Wallace and Stevie O'Neill both had white scooters all full of mirrors and lights. If you look in the Mickey Oates photo that Div has put on you can see Big Doc standing behind Johnny Wallace. He had dark curly hair apart from when it was short, and that was obviously why it was always short for the big man.

As well as knowing Johnny Wallace and Big Doc from the Mod scene I also knew them from school and Sighthill in general, so it was sad to hear that they were gone. I always thought the Sighthill Glory Boys' scooters were done really well, always spotless and full of lights and mirrors.
  • It was Stevie O'Neil I was thinking about.
Hung about wae The Sighthill boys on occasion, used to go to the PO club on James Watt St.

They were real mods,if you know what I mean. They were at the opening night in The Scene Club, thats were I first met them. Last met big Stevie when I played against St Rollox, late eighties.
  • I well remember the Glory Boys haunt of the PO club. It was just across from the Chessboard where we would have a small aperitife before going on to the Scene club.

When I first started going up to the Scene club (September 81) the Glory boys did not frequent it so much then. The only ones that I saw going up fairly regularly then were wee Bob Kelly and Mick Prior. The other guys preferred to hang out at the PO club as far as I remember. But you are right about their scooters, they were absolutely spot on.

I always meant to ask you why you were not in that Evening Times photo outside Mickey Oates. It must have been the one day in the past ten months that you had not been there.
  • I think I was a guest of Her Majesty
  • I seem to remember you receiving an MBE. (Mod Boy par Excellence)

I assume like John Lennon you sent it back.
  • Of course never been one for The Royal Family.

So else will be going tae the weekender that I would know .
  • I think Shug Paton will be going, and last year I bumped into Andy Wylie and Angie. There were possibly others there who we would know if they still looked the same as they did in 1981/82 but it was very busy.
  • First met Andy Wylie late 79 early 80 had a light blue GP, if a remember right.
Did he not join the Navy.

    Who is Angie.
  • Angie who I met at nice n sleazy recently is now Andy's partner I believe, she was in the globies and was a scene club mod...
  • Hi Andy. I'm sorry to say that I don't think its the same guy.

As far as I remember the first scooter he got was about 1982 or 83 and was a blue PX, which he later cut down in a show of scooter boyism.

To be honest I don't really know if he later joined the navy. But I am sure he would have been a bit too young to have owned a scooter in 79 or early 1980. He came from Blackhill or Provanmill.
  • Chris your right he is around 40ish so a couple years younger than my good self..
  • Andy and Angie did seem to be together Jimmy, but I was not aware that they were going out. And yes, I remember both Andy and Angie from the Scene Club. They were certainly not going out then unless my memory has went cuckoo.
  • chris your right in angies own words she was too independent back then, I leave the rest for angie to divulge. they hooked up later mate. your not cooo kooooo
  • I meant to say to Andy that the Angie I was talking about was Angie Fraser. You will definitely know her to see. Unlike us guys the girls somehow manage to retain their locks over the years, which helps in the identification process.
  • Thank god for that Jimmy. Memory sometimes plays the strangest tricks, but I don't remember Angie going out with Andy during those times.
  • Nice to look back and smile Chris, nostalgia drenched memories, cheers for these photos, never fail to cheer me up.
  • It certainly is great to look back Charlie. I was looking at some the other day and thought how we took a lot of things for granted. The one's with the scooters all gathering, and then leaving for Ingliston seem like from another planet now, as we just don't get scooters going about in such numbers. But back then it was just the normal thing, and most Saturday's and Sunday's there would be loads of scooters parked at the Barras or the Bandstand. It felt so good being part of a good crowd of Mods going around the town on the scooter. Any time we stopped at the traffic lights people would stop and stare with open mouths at the numbers.
  • Like my Uncle always said "Mods turn heads, Bikers turn stomaches, TOON YA BASS!!" Mind you he was drunk as a Lord most of the time, but
sometimes, he made sense in his moments of Mod clarity,. I think its up to the Mods around to rectify the going around town, especially the younger crowd, there is enough of them to meet up and make it happen. Remember a lot of Mods we knew came from all over Scotland to party with us in Glasgow. Make the effort and watch it happen. Its up to them. Once again, great photos, good times!!!
  • You certainly have a point about people coming from areas near Glasgow at the weekends. Often amongst the dozens of Mods driving about there would be guys from Greenock,Dumbarton, Bridge of Weir and other such places.

It always felt amazing being on the scooter. But when you were surrounded by a few dozen like minded people it was out of this world. I would agree with you that the youngsters going around just now should meet up, as it makes the whole experience all the better.
  • How you doing Charlie, sorry i didn't see you at Rothsey mate, work got in the way of things. Thought i might see you at Lothian, so if you were there, i was pissed and missed you again mate, although i met Fitzy, who had the mis-fortune of camping beside me and Scotty.

The young Mod scene is looking great in Ayrshire, there are lots of young Mods, with Scooters & Bands on the go,and more and more "original" Mods coming back, notice i didn't say "older" Mods!!!.

And in tradition, [which is killing me], its time to sell on your parka to them so they have the right ones, which i must add has been with me since .........wow....... the early 80's, me faithful parka, gonnae miss you mate.

Some of the lads have already parted with theirs, im building up to it, I let my hair go easier!

But there seems to be a great Mod revival on the way again and the boys from the past coming back into the scene as well, it never leaves you eh. "That's why i'm a Mod see, well you gotta be somebody aint ya, or you might as well jump in the shea and drown".

I was in the Barras the other day, what a lonely place it is without us. See you soon mate.
  • admin delete or move this just to let ya know there is an old fashioned mod night in dirty martinis, the breahead pub as it was known in kilmarnock . it is on the 10th oct. it will be a top night, dj and live band the standart formally velazquez. yes the lads are back and have been practicing hard
  • How you doing Tuc mate, i'll see you there. Sould be a great night.
  • Hi Danny and Tuc see you'se there, I will bring Fitzy with me, October the
10th, look forward to it, Fitzy has posted photos and a video from The East Lothian Scooter Rally. We forgot it was on!!!! DOH! Danny don't part with
your Parka, you will only regret it, your hairs gone but not your Parka.

I still have mine, wouldn't part with it, my 2nd wife tried to get me to dump it
after she dumped a suitcase of my "souvenir" gear I had with me in London
behind my back, no chance, 11 years on my Parkas here she ain't, lesson
learned the hard way. Its part of you. I am glad there is a yunger crowd thriving
around your way, thngs can only get stronger for the Mod scene, and keep
    it alive.

The Barras has changed, makes me appreciate how colourful and alive
it was the years we spent in the 80's, I have got photos from Fitzie from
some parties in 82 and 83, some familiar "Faces" about to re-appear
you may remember, in the next couple of days Danny.

Take care Danny and Tuc and I will see you'se in October the10th,
    cause we are the Mods!!
  • sound boys the manager that runs the group had another band that played one of our doox see u b4 that danny
  • Aye your right Charlie, i know i will regret it if sell my parka on. And with the good ol Scottish weather I need to keep warm an dry on my scooter.
  • Cheers Tuc, i'll need to go on a diet again to get into my hipsters and shirts, lol.

Charlie i seen Mr Blair on Wednesday scooting through the toon on his Red Rally 200, still looks and drives like a Mod does oor Davie.
  • Arite Danny - aye that was me, feet pointin oot 45deg.
What were you doin in the toon? Ye should have gave me a shout if you seen me.
Emailed scott earlier - talkin about us catchin up and goin for a run.
Have the crack wi him & we'll get somethin sorted.
  • Davie i was in my car, heading for the BMW garage and you were just turning at the lights at the Mercedes garage, it happened to quick for my auld reactions!!!

Aye Davie, sounds good mate, a wee run and a crack. That Scott is getting worse Davie, had me up to all hours last week at Lothian, that was after we walked about 5 miles to find a supermarket, i said we'll take the scooter, no no, its just around the corner he says!!!

I had blisters on my feet, i'll no be listening to him anymair. We'll get something arranged this week hopefully mate.
  • You got a BMW - scott said you had a skoda!!
    What bmw garage was that?
So scotts still a bletherer eh? That somethin ye forgot ? :)
  • Ah - mercedes garage on milton street?
  • Aye, thats the one Davie, and BM garage is up from it on Kyle Street, near the passport office.

Scott is right, i took the car in and told me to stop sticking BMW badges over Skoda ones, people know the difference.

Davie i had enough of the drinkin and talking and stuff at about 03:00 and went to kip, i got up at 06:00 with all the noise and there he was, still on the go, he tells me he went to bed, but i canny see it, and he sat about 50MPH all the way up the road.
  • Jeez these photos bring back a lot of good memories, cheers Chris.
The Stars and Stripes Scooter, used to see it every where around the town,
it was a beautiful Scooter, brilliant.
  • Cheers for the comment Charlie, and yes it was a really nice looking scoot which I also remember from the past.

Truth be told the photos with Prenty, Mackie, Bobo, and that guy who owned the scooter are not mine. I honestly don't have a scooby how they inflitrated my photo's bit as they are nothing to do with me.
  • Theres a mention on the site somewhere Chris who the extra photos belong to, I saw it the other day, I'll see if I can find it.

Have you got the house sorted yet for the forthcoming russell harty ?
  • Extra photos are from Bryan Connor, Chris.

Jimmy when we gonna see these photos of young Charlie up on the site ?
  • Yes NG, the house will be ready for Christmas...2009. Just you get this carry on sorted. Its a bad day when EE Mods make appearances in my photo's Li Li ! I have sent another few in to Jimmy, so we can expect to see them soon hopefully,

I went in to day and bought my tickets for the 'From The Jam' gig. So we can go to your house before it for a bite to eat and a carry out NG. Looking forward to it already.
  • I suppose I'll be paying for the carry out as well, might as well chuck in a taxi fare as well. Anyway I reckon you should put your tickets up as a site competition prize !

I hope you haven't lost my tape !!!!!
  • You don't have to worry about having to pay for all the drink NG. I will pay my fair share as always. Its just these Edinburgh and EE Mods you will have to worry about there Li Li ! Also, there is no need for any taxi, with your pad being only a ten minute walk to the Barras we have got it made.

I'm not so sure about the tape you are talking about here NG. Is that the Jam one from 82 that was recently up for sale on E-Bay ?
  • It was on sale on eBay I would have saw it, come to think about it, maybe I did !

I think I shall do something constructive for the site today, as this weather is just awful, and I got wet enough last night and that was IN the pub haha
  • Something constructive sounds like a good idea mate.

If we are going to meet up before the Jam gig just make sure we don't end up in that pub you are referring to, it may be raining that night.
  • Hope its something good NG we have actually got alittle bit of sun down here but unfortunately ive got to go work!!
  • I'm sure it will be well worth waiting for Jackie. Maybe some long lost roackabilly classic by Shakin Joe and the Hepcats Li Li ! And there is no need to make us envious about the weather. In 20 years time when there is a massive drought in England we will be selling you the wet stuff at great rates.
  • My floor is a sea of 45 RPM vinyl just now Chris, I'm hoping I can find a few tunes which are worthy for the site !
  • I have absolute faith in your ability to pick out some choice numbers NG. Anything by the Merton Parkas would do nicely Li Li !
  • Are you serious Chris ? your not the only person to have requested them. I have found some tunes, just need to add the track details now.
  • No I'm not serious about the Merton Parkas NG, although I'm sure they must have had at least one decent song somewhere. I always thought the picture cover of 'You Need Wheels' looked great with the scooters all done up with the mirrors and lights. But the actual song was quite rubbish.
  • Hi Chris the picture cover of "You Need Wheels" I stayed at a flat 1990,
25 Melbourne Road, right behind Merton Park Train Station, shared it with
Big Jason and his nutter of a pal Billy, great Tailor, but a nutter!! The Merton
Parkas, I wasn't keen on, The Style Council made Mick Talbot, thats unquestionable, always thought he was the "Bob Monkhouse" of TSC, smarmy
and oily, he wouldn't have lasted minutes 2 minutes in The Scene Club.
The Mods would have used his mouth as an ashtray!!! lol!
  • I can't say I was too hot on any of their music that I heard either Charlie. But there could be some gems out there that I was not aware of. I am sure Mick must have been quite talented on the old keyboards, but he most certainly did not look the part as a cool Mod.
  • Hey Chris believe me one day of sunshine is all we've had all summer we could sell it to you as i've heard your weather has been better than ours even made me think about coming home haha.
  • Believe it or not Jackie, the sun is actually out here in Glasgow. I know its difficult to imagine. Last night I had seen an old guy with a white beard and white dress building a massive wooden boat as well.
  • Thats it im packing my bags and on my way you better send that old guy and boat down here lol!!
  • Sounds like a good swap Jackie. The only thing is, are also willing to take all the animals as well ?
  • That would be alright Chris because i would be in Glasgow and the animals would be down here LILI.
  • I suppose that makes sense Jackie. They did originally come from Newcastle anyway I suppose Li Li ! Maybe the old guy with the white beard and dress was Eric Burden.
  • Yeah good one Chris they did come from there maybe they can come take the rain there as well lol !!
  • As long as it stays away from here for a while Jackie I will be thankful. It has rained for most of the past week. It is meant to be global warming we are experiencing, not global wetting.
  • I heard theres a few Mods about !!!
  • Mods, who mentioned Mods. Bunch of trouble makers roaming the streets on them motorbikes causing unrest and general distress to the masses. Oops, sorry, I meant New Romantics, hooligans that they are !
  • Hey the sun is out in Bristol this morning if its raining in Glagow all Mods pack your bags and get down here all welcome LILI ..
  • Jackie, I have to report a massive change in the weather here. For the second day running the sun is splitting the sky. So gather the family together, jump on your scooter, and come back up to the finest city in Europe. Apart from Rome obviously, and Paris, and Vienna, and Barcelona. But definitely the finest in this crazy island.
  • Definitely the finest city in this island Chris and if i could get up there and back before the kids came home from school i most definitely would.
  • You might make it Jackie if you have a sports exhaust and a racing clutch. You may have to keep the mirrors and lights in the shed but Li Li !
  • Unfortunately i don't have a scooter Chris and i don't think my wee car would take it oh well maybe another time lol !!
  • The russell harty has now moved to Pensford !!!, I just hope Jackies back garden is about the same size as your new acquired estate Chris and just think we have "The Bridge Over The River Chew" that can be our ane wee suspension bridge.
  • I have a very big back garden no problem there don't know if the bridge can take it though too much traffic.
  • I have heard of the Bridge over the River Kwai, but not over the River Chew NG.

I am sure Jackie owns one of those massive homes in Bristol that were built in the 18th century by the slave traders. There will be about 14 bedrooms, 10 toilets, 3 kitchens, and a massive back garden for parking the scooters. The only problem I can see is that the Bristolonians will not be able to understand us, and we will certainly not be able to understand them. I have met a good few people from there and they speak with some crazy accent.
  • Chris i've been here 16 years and they still can't understand me somtimes and yes they do talk very strange here.

River Chew is very famous here you better look up on things before you come here they won't like it haha
  • I will do my research then Jackie. I had heard of a penny chew, but a river one.

As I said earlier I found it difficult to make out what they were on about, and the same probably applied the other way around. Half the time I would just nod and say 'yes' to anything said. As far as I remember Bristol is Cider country, but I may be getting mixed up with Somerset.
  • Hi Chris i live about 8 miles outside Bristol which comes into somerset country and yes its rough cider here wouldnt drink it myself it looks awful am glad im a glasgow bunkin and not a somerset one !!!
  • I know what you mean Jackie. I am not much of a cider fan myself although we used to buy a great drink called 'Shammy' from the Sarry Heid in the Gallowgate for our pre-Scene Club cargo. It was a mixture of wine, cider, and any old slops that was lying around. It was certainly quite potent, especially once a bottle of wine was added.
  • i remember once coming up to Glasgow with an english guy i worked with and taking him into the Sarry Heid - i warned him about the dangers of local cocktail but he said he could manage it, no problem - he took one gulp of the shammy and spewed all over the bar - the Sarry Heid regulars didn't blink an eye of course.
  • As they say here im a cider drinker i drink a bottle a day oh god thats from a song help me someone !!!
  • finally got your photies uploaded chris, I cleaned them up a wee bit and they look ok
  • Some good images added there Chris, I suppose I'll need too dig out my other snaps
  • Cheers for adding the photo's Jimmy. They are quite good in that they show parts of the city that are no longer the same. The wee hut with all the grafitti was next to Glenconnor park in the Garngad. I personally had nothing to do with such mindless vandalism, it was Shug Paton.

How did your night at the gig go Stevie. Was it as good as it sounded, or were you wishing you had a gallon of Shammy halfway through proceedings ? And you will have to add on the rest of your photo's NG. For the first time ever I included a photo from a scooter rally. (Morecambe 84) I just thought the Mod girl looked good as did all three scooter in the frame.
  • Brilliant extra photos Chris, looks like a Mod scene version of
"The Warriors!" except more style, pictures are a statement of
their times, a Glasgow all of us remember so well then, these
images are a part of it, cheers for sharing them with all of us.
  • It's a pleasure Charlie. Most of them on their own are a bit banal, but the fact that so much has changed in the city adds a bit to them. The one taken at the old Glasgow tech shows a skyline that no longer exists in the north of the city. I am also not the worlds biggest admirer of scooter rally photo's as they are usually much of a much to me. But I thought this one was like a 'Last of the Mods' number with lovely scooters and people looking good, which was becoming a rarity then at rallies.

The one of the four of us was taken at Buchanan Street bus station as we waited for our bus going to the Jam gig at Ingliston. Poor Eddie Donnelly (purple jacket and sky blue hipsters) was soaked to the skin waiting for Shirley. I don't recall if she ever turned up.
  • I still have my Morecambe 84 scooter patch just happened to be there on holiday at the time Im sure its posted up on the site somhewhere !!!
  • That was a good bit of fortune there NG. You didn't happen to have any input into the whereabouts of that years jaunt did you ? I always remember it was a very good weekend. The weather was great and there was not any trouble until the usual Sunday night fracas. We just slept at the Friday allnighter and went to our digs on the Saturday. Despite not having lots of money it was fairly enjoyable. We actually did not have much contact with any of the Glasgow people in attendance and just did our own thing. I was going to say Glasgow Mods there but remembered that there were not many Glasgow Mods at Morecambe in 84.
  • Chris all I know it was the Easter weekend in 84, I'll send you a scan of the patch when I get a spare minute.
  • Yeah, it was definitely the Easter bank holiday NG. We jumped on the bus down to Morecambe and got there about 9 bells on the Friday night.

We only went out to the campsite where most of the Glasgow crowd were based once. They were charging about £2 for a can of beer, which was a lot in 1984. Definitley All Mod (or scooter boy) Con merchants.

I remember on the Sunday wee Melvo was skint but was determined to go to the night on the pier. He actually walked through the shallow water and climbed up. He was covered in goo but it saved him a few quid.
