playing Edwin Starrs "Time" the very first time I had ever heard it. Thanks
for the good times Big Yin.
My feelings go out to his family and his twin who always hung out with us. Also sadness at Chris,s passing
The two stroke smell never leaves yer nostrils, I hope both Chris and Ped are lookin down and excited by how good its gettin now

First I have logged into this part of the site and didn't know that Johnny Allan from Sighthill had died. He was one of the first guys I met when I got my first scooter back in 1980 and also got me into a crowd at the Roostar bar when I didn't know anybody. I don't recognise the other guys name from Sighthill although there was about 6-7 of them at the time and he might be in the photo I sent in. Johnny is in that photo as well as the one outside Mick Oats, so at least on this site he can be remembered
"Rest assured oor Johnny is still as grumpy, ugly and bad tempered as ever. He's a bit like a tank .takes a fair bit to knock him oot."
It is Johnny Wallace that died not Johnny Allan. Can you also please note that It is Wallace with two l's. No biggy but just respectful to have his name spelled properly in his eulogy, he was a very good friend of mine.
Also please note that Jim McInch, Jan's brother, is also passed.
Although I ran about with the North Glasgow Mods I came from Sighthill, which must have had the most Mods per square mile in the whole city. Johnny Wallace, Big Doc, Stevie O'Neill, Nolso, Frankie McPhee, Johnnie Walker, Mick Prior, Paul Sexton, Gav and probably some more that I have forgotten.
Well done with the site Charlie. It does the memory of all those cool, hip young guys from a great time proud.
The site is certainly a fantastic idea. Top marks to whoever came up with it. I went about with Big Chris McCrae and Ped Smith as well as all the other Mods who frequented the town centre during the early 1980s. I have some good photographs of those times that feature many, amongst whom are Ped and Chris Mc. If you could make use of them then I'm sure I could find a way to get them to you. It would be a nice touch to have photos of the guys attached.
Sadly, despite coming from Sighthill, I do not have any photo's that feature any of the Sighthill Glory Boys.
I went out with Jackie for 5 years and i still think about her every single day.
Gone but Never forgotten.

Gone But Never Forgotten.
The time has come to say goodnight,
For every road must end,
To the ones who care and are always there,
Our very special friends.
Lets say goodnight to those we love,
And maybe shed a tear,
But before we close,
Lets think of those,
We love who cant be here.
Lets raise a glass to absent friends,
For every road must end,
You`ll always be there in our hearts,
Our special absent friends.
And when its time for us to go,
And our long journey ends,
You`ll never be alone,you see,
You`ll be with absent friends.
GLASGOW MODS.
All kidding aside, I also (sadly) know quite a lot of people mentioned above, and that was what initially made me register with the site. I knew I had some photos of big Chris and Ped somewhere and I thought it would be good to have photos of the people above featured.
hes ma dad n hes alive n well.
We Are The Mods
Renfrew? I knew alot of Mods from Renfrew, met 2 of them outside Friday Street last
month, I hadn't seen them for over 24 years, small world indeed. Hope to
hear from you soon Soulboy.
So many great friends from the Renfrew Inchinan Erskine area.
tuc where was he from ?
a 40th Birthday and they stopped to take photos of Stu and Mitchy's Scooters parked
across the road, we got chatting and I knew the faces but not the names, then
the penny dropped, it is a small world, but it made my night.
Especially the Wanderers S.C. I ended up at one of their parties, or should I say
woke up at one of their parties didn't have a clue were I was, let alone who I was??
That was one strange planet I used to visit most Weekends on Planet Mod,before
life got serious with us all. There is plenty of pictures of everyone on the Site Map
you may even see yourself in aongst them, especially Jackie Murrays photos,
titled Jackie nee M New Photos. Al the best
Do you know if Mandy Barrett still stays in Renfrew, she used to live in the tenements next to the cop shop facing the park, mind you it over 20 years ago.
I've been nipping her head for a scoot for years, but there always seems to be something more important. She's younger than me and doesn't understand, When we were at our Mod peak, her mum used to tell her to stay away from those boys on scooters, i wish she'd listened. lol
Algie East End Mods
It is sad to hear of so many of the people that we knew passing away. I came from Sighthill and knew a lot of the Mods from there fairly well. Good to hear from one of the older 79 Mods on the site, and Stevie fae Cranhill will grateful that another Eastender has tuned in . Mick Paton and Andy Mulvie tune in now and again, and Snod also has the occasional post.
I went about with Wass, Mick, and all the Paton crew, Jim McInch, Eddie Cunningham, Croney, Chaz, and a lot of others too many to mention from the north. Wee Wass is living down in Essex, but he is still right into the Mod scene and goes around with a scooter club called 'The Specials.'
It would be brilliant if you could uncover some photo's for the site Algie. The one thing that is missing a wee bit is photo's from the early days. In fact the only photo's we have of the Scene Club are the few I took around September 82. You could also name all the faces you know from that Evening Times article outside Mickey Oates from 81. I named most of them as I remember (yourself included) but there are about two or three who I did not know at all. And I have not seen Bobby B for a while, but Mick ran into him a while back and I think he came down to one of the mod nights down at Friday Street.
and what a walk down memory lane!so sad to see all that has passed, donnie stuart,we ped,big shaun, big chris,i knew about adam, fergie ,and will allways remember Jackie Calder .rip to all of them, used to be a mod and was in the marauders
