Met a friend and she said she had seen photos of me in the old mod days,looked u up
and what a walk down memory lane!so sad to see all that has passed,donnie stuart,we ped,big shaun,big chris,i knew about adam,fergie ,and will allways remember Jackie Calder .rip to all of them,used to be a mod and was in the marauders

It was sad to hear about wee Ped passing away. And it was that, and the knowlege that I had a few snaps with him in them that made me come on to the site in the first place. I know all the one's who I knew who are no longer with us will be up there partying like it was 1981.

Good to hear that you are still in contact with some of the old EE Mod crew. I knew all the guys you are referring to, but only on nodding tems. The same applies to yourself, I met you a few times back in 81 and 82. I still see some of the guys, and only a couple of weeks ago I bumped into wee Mitchie from Easterhouse. He still goes about with Stu who was also from the top end, the same place as Geordie Stein.

I went about with Wass, Mick, and all the Paton crew, Jim McInch, Eddie Cunningham, Croney, Chaz, and a lot of others too many to mention from the north. Wee Wass is living down in Essex, but he is still right into the Mod scene and goes around with a scooter club called 'The Specials.'

It would be brilliant if you could uncover some photo's for the site Algie. The one thing that is missing a wee bit is photo's from the early days. In fact the only photo's we have of the Scene Club are the few I took around September 82. You could also name all the faces you know from that Evening Times article outside Mickey Oates from 81. I named most of them as I remember (yourself included) but there are about two or three who I did not know at all. And I have not seen Bobby B for a while, but Mick ran into him a while back and I think he came down to one of the mod nights down at Friday Street.

Cheers for your comments Chris,that was big Elky all over.Good to hear Mick Paton,Andy mulvie&Snod are all well and tune in sometimes ,how is Wass Paton ?I knew them all pretty well from the early days at the Rooster in Glassford st &the Scene Club ,they were all dedicated Mods.Last time i seen Snod was mid Ninetees in London.I still see quite afew of the old East end crew Jeff Black ,Jamie Hay, Dobie,Rab Fraser ,Macky . Going up in the loft shortly tosee if i can dig up some old pics and memos i know are up there somewhere .If i can iwill post them on the sight and hopefully bring back some good memories for afew punters.Aii the Best . Although I only knew Elkie to say hello to I knew he was a great big guy. I remember his scooter too, a beautifully polished black PX or PE. One night we were coming home on the late bus and these neds started on me and another of the guys. We were a bit younger than them but we weren't going to let them away with taking the piss. Elkie was on the bus as well, with another Mod from Springburn called Sam. (I think) They came up to see what the hassle was and the neds started on them, but they got a bit of a hiding.

It is sad to hear of so many of the people that we knew passing away. I came from Sighthill and knew a lot of the Mods from there fairly well. Good to hear from one of the older 79 Mods on the site, and Stevie fae Cranhill will grateful that another Eastender has tuned in . Mick Paton and Andy Mulvie tune in now and again, and Snod also has the occasional post.

Stayed close to big Elky right until his tragic death in India.Still miss the Bigman,a true gent ,we had many great times on scooter runs and up the SceneClub .His funeral was one of the saddet days in a long time.Also sorry to hear about the passing away of some others on your memorial J.Walker ,P docherty.J Mcinch.

omg your house sounds like my house been out and got a suit,dress,skirt all mod style even got some shoes,hats and bags got my music in the car as well even got my oldest daughter singing along to Quadrophenia the other day but still the other half oh no not scooters again haha i love it!!
