I cant view videos or pics etc on this site due to not even knowing what a flash player is, but iv found a few of the videos on youtube, is there any other key words that they'd be under, iv found the ones under the keywords "Glasgowmods" :)

I'm on a roll here, and have come up with another nominee. Jane Fonda looked absolutely stunning in 'Sunday in New York' 1963, and what can I say about how she looked in 'Barbarella.' The only bad thing about it was it influenced one of the worse bands in the history of popular music .(DD) Like Vanessa Redgrave Jane Fonda was very politically strong and active, and anyone who is named after one of mad, murdering, misogynist Henry XIIIs wives and still does well, must have something going for her.

Don't think she was their sister Chris ( if it is the Kinks fellows you refer to), she was born in Wales in Oct 1944, Ray was born in London in May 44 - twins with a delayed birth???? Ray had 6 sisters but they were all older than him.

Another cool glam 60s chick that should be added is Vanessa Redgrave. She was a great actress that featured in fab films like 'Blowup' and she also had a good head on her pretty shoulders and was involved in a lot of contemporary politics.

The Champions was a programme I loved as a wee boy, and love even now. It had absolute crap plotlines, crap acting, and crap mock scenery, but they did look pretty good, and the music was also great. The best one's always seemed to involve Voodoo.

Good shout there Charlie, although I am not so sure about 'Alexander Bastedo,' was he the brother of Alexandra Li Li !

What about Chrstine Keeler and Mandy Rice Davies (the sister of Ray and Dave). Not only did they bring down the government, but they had great style and looked the bizz. An obvious one would be Diana Rigg playing Emma Peel in the Avengers, but i think we have went over that one before. I was not so keen on the other one Tara King.

That may well be a wonderful idea for a great post Janny. Without it getting all horribly sexist and sleazy as an MP, we could come up with some of the girls/women in the 60s who had style in abundance and also had the looks to match. Yourself, Lammy, and Jackie, and any other of the female contributers could come up with the male equivalent. I know for a start you will all be flying in with Freddy Garrity as the Top Cat Li Li !

Yup there were alot of lookers back then!! I myself Ray Davies with that wee gappy tooth thing going on ( and boy could he write songs!!), the young Dennis Wilson (purely for eye candy purposes) and there are many more................. Maybe that's another post, fit guys and girls in the spotlight in the 6ts li li!!

Great article Janny, and as always, very well researched. I read a recent article on Terence Stamp in one of the one Off 'Mods' magazines and it was very interesting. On a personal note I would probably prefer Julie Christie. I also have to say that Sandie Shaw was another really cool chick in the early to mid 60s as was Millicent Martin.
